Anchored by the debut of Petal Pedestal, a sculptural expansion of the Petal Chair and Stool Collection, and the launch of the Plaza Table in wood, the collection presented in Copenhagen explores the pedestal as both architectural archetype and functional foundation— a plinth elevated into daily life. At BassamFellows, technology and craft are not opposing forces; they are collaborators. The result is a body of work that feels at once precise and sensual: carved walnut bases with the authority of architecture, paired with surfaces—wood or wrapped leather—intended to be touched, lived with, and used.
A new Petal: Petal Pedestal
Petal Pedestal introduces a carved wood swivel base to the Petal Collection—expanding the system of dining chairs and stools with a new stance: grounded, sculptural, and deliberately architectural. The form retains Petal’s distinct ergonomic presence while giving the collection a new visual anchor—one that reads as furniture, object, and small structure at once. Originally launched in 2022, the Petal Collection introduced a new benchmark for what wood can do—technically and sensually. Developed in the same lineage of American molded- wood experimentation that shaped modern design, Petal pushed the medium forward using advanced 3D molded wood veneer to achieve compound curves that are exceptionally difficult in traditional wood production: a deeply ergonomic shell, refined “waterfall” edges, and sculptural arm geometry.
By combining new tooling and material innovation with the discipline of craftsmanship, Petal positioned technology not as a constraint, but as a means of extending ambition—bringing an organic, architectural form into true commercial production at the highest level.
Plaza evolves: from carved marble to carved walnut
Originally introduced as carved solid marble, the Plaza Table now appears in a new wood edition: carved solid walnut pedestal legs supporting a top in solid walnut or wrapped leather. The shift is not a translation—it’s an evolution. Where marble expressed monumentality through mass, walnut brings a different kind of permanence: warmer, tactile, and equally exacting in its execution.
Ramus extends
Ramus was introduced last year as a new chair family that brings the indulgent comfort of a lounge chair into the modern workday—uniting sculptural wood, tailored upholstery, and a relaxed, residential sensibility with the technical discipline of performance seating. Building on the Task and Lounge Chairs, the Ramus Side Chair extends the collection into a more agile typology: a refined seat on a four-star base that carries the same enveloping comfort and architectural clarity, now suited to the table. Equally at home as a conference chair in a boardroom or a luxurious dining chair in a residence, it is designed for interiors where work and living intentionally overlap.
A new Palette
For this presentation, BassamFellows introduces a new leather palette—Oxide and Red Iron—tones drawn from the material intelligence of architecture: oxidized metals, clay, brick, and iron-rich earth. Used as wrapped-leather surfaces and upholstery, the colors bring heat and depth to carved and shaped walnut forms. In daylight they read as quiet, mineral reds; under evening light they become richer and more enveloping— an intentional counterpoint to the clarity of the pedestal structures.BassamFellows on ARCHIPRODUCTS
