A landscape of light that evokes the essential beauty of nature, reminiscent of the secluded and immersive quietude of a bamboo grove. Neri & Hu reinterpret this atmosphere with Samambu, a lighting system inspired by the natural elegance of bamboo canes.
Samambu reinterprets an archetype of Eastern tradition, translating it into an essential gesture of light. Slender metal stems soar through space with natural lightness and follow a visual rhythm that recalls the unconstrained growth of bamboo. At the top, an opal glass diffuser houses a source that scatters a soft, uniform light in an enveloping glow.
The Samambu lamp is available in two variants. In the table version, a single base accommodates two stems of different heights, giving life to a dual beam of light. In the floor version, three elements stand side-by-side on the same base, extending vertically to compose a more sculptural and dynamic figure, like a small forest where each element exists in relation to the others, creating a natural choreography of light and matter.
To enhance the aesthetic of this refined system, Cassina offers the structure in two finishes that evoke nature’s intense, earthy tones: Chocolate brown and Brick orange.
