The history and evolution of Twils, from padded cushions to coordinated textile beds
Twils was founded in Cessalto, in the province of Treviso, as a family-run company established by the Carnieletto family. Its origins are linked to the production of
padded cushions, an activity that enabled the company to develop deep knowledge of materials, padding techniques and textile craftsmanship over time. This wealth of expertise, refined through an almost tailoring-like approach to production, formed the basis for a natural evolution towards the creation of upholstered beds and sofas, fields in which comfort and softness become central elements of the design process. Over the years the company has grown, gradually evolving from a craft-based reality into a structured industrial organization, while maintaining a strong connection to the territory and to the culture of craftsmanship typical of Made in Italy. Twils was also among the first companies in the sector to recognize the potential of the coordinated textile bed, integrated with
bedding systems and accessories capable of defining a coherent stylistic language for the sleeping area. This design vision, combined with constant attention to the quality of materials and detail, has helped shape the brand’s identity within the contemporary furniture landscape.

Matteo Ragni, winner of two Compasso d’Oro awards and known for his many collaborations with international companies. With Ragni the
Better Living design line takes shape, a collection of furniture elements for the living area — including sofas, armchairs and poufs — designed to integrate naturally into domestic interiors and characterized by an essential and contemporary formal language. Within this creative path, Ragni also oversees the development of the
Better Dreaming division, dedicated to the world of beds and systems for the sleeping area.
Over the years Twils has developed numerous collaborations with Italian and international designers, strengthening the design value of its collections and expanding its dialogue with the world of architecture and interior design. Among the most significant recognitions are the Archiproducts Design Awards, assigned to the

Polet armchair by Achille Castiglioni (2021), the
