Aluscalae presents Aluxa
Aluxa was born from the experience of Aluscalae and represents its natural evolution: an integrated system of aluminum solutions where design, innovation, and functionality define contemporary living. Backed by more than twenty years of technical expertise and research, Aluxa develops railings, solar shading systems, infrastructures, and urban furnishings that combine aesthetics, safety, efficiency, and durability, shaping modern, sustainable architectural spaces conceived to enhance residential and urban comfort.
The history of Aluscalae
The roots of Aluscalae date back to 1934, the year Pietro Costa was founded, a pioneering company in the distribution of aluminum in Italy. From this origin, an entrepreneurial journey took shape, built on deep knowledge of the material and the continuous evolution of its applications.
In 1968, the first generational transition took place with engineer Guido Malaisi, followed in 1988 by the entry of the second family generation, consolidating a heritage of expertise built over time.
In 1990, Pietro Costa became Alusuisse and, in 2002, Aluscalae Srl was officially established, founded by Piero Malaisi Costa and engineer Franco Dettori with the aim of transferring this know-how to the world of architecture and aluminum structures. In 2006, Paolo Baldini joined the company, helping to strengthen its growth path.
In 2008, Margherita Malaisi Costa entered the company, accompanying a new evolutionary phase that led to the first installations of urban railings in 2016, an important industrial revamping in 2019 and, in 2024, the achievement of UNI EN 1090 certification, confirming the quality and compliance of its production processes.
Today, Aluscalae operates in Bologna as a specialized technical partner, combining industrial heritage, innovation, and contemporary design vision in the development of high-performance custom systems.
Aluscalae railings, stairs, flooring, and urban furniture
Aluscalae production includes aluminum systems for architecture, construction, and public space.
Its main solutions include railings and balustrades for residential, commercial, and public applications, designed to ensure safety, durability, and architectural integration. This area also includes aluminum brise-soleil systems for solar shading and light control, conceived for contemporary architecture.
A dedicated line is represented by aluminum road parapets, developed for infrastructures and urban contexts according to specific safety and certification requirements.
Alongside these solutions, Aluscalae develops Aluplana, a line of technical aluminum flooring for walkways, footbridges, and stairs, characterized by high anti-slip performance, durability, and ease of installation.
The creation of aluminum stairs represents another field of specialization, with customizable solutions for different architectural and functional needs.
Completing the offer is Aluformae, the line dedicated to urban furniture, including benches, planters, waste bins, bollards, and totems, designed for public space with particular attention to strength, recyclability, and formal quality.
The offer includes assembly kit products and custom solutions, positioning Aluscalae as a technical and production partner for bespoke projects with high architectural content.
