Andcosta is based in the Veneto region, just a short distance from Venice, and operates as a research-driven
lighting design studio focused on contemporary architecture. Rooted in Italian design culture and local manufacturing tradition, the company develops architectural lighting solutions that combine technical precision, optical control, and a restrained aesthetic vision shaped for long-term relevance.
Founded in 2000 by Carlo Zerbaro, following over two decades of experience in industrial design for international brands, Andcosta stands out for its multidisciplinary approach. Product design, photography, visual communication, and a deep understanding of light converge into a coherent design language. The result is a collection of lighting systems conceived to interact with architecture rather than dominate it.
The company is headquartered in Thiene, within a regenerated industrial building set against the landscape of the Venetian Prealps, a territory shaped by the architectural legacy of Andrea Palladio. Across more than 5,000 sqm, Andcosta integrates design, engineering, production, logistics, showroom, and photographic studio into a single environment, enabling full control over the entire development process.
Andcosta operates through two core divisions: Products, dedicated to the development of high-performance architectural lighting collections, and Custom, focused on bespoke solutions for complex and large-scale projects. The company collaborates with architects, lighting designers, and international studios to develop lighting systems tailored to specific spatial, technical, and aesthetic requirements across residential, hospitality, retail, office, and public environments.
The design process begins with light as a material. Parameters such as light quality, distribution, color rendering, and integration with surfaces and materials are carefully analyzed to achieve precise visual outcomes. Engineering expertise is combined with a strong formal sensibility to ensure both performance and architectural coherence. Internal production capabilities and a flexible manufacturing structure allow Andcosta to respond to highly customized demands while maintaining consistent quality standards.
More than a manufacturer, Andcosta acts as a technical and design partner. From concept development to final delivery, the team supports clients through every stage of the project, providing lighting consultancy, custom development, and operational assistance. Each project is approached as a tailored system, where light defines space, shapes perception, and enhances architectural intent.
