The decisive transformation took place in the 1970s, when Beniamino Pettenon and Adriana Pettenon directed the business toward the professional sector of surface protection and maintenance. Starting with treatments for terracotta, FILA progressively expanded its research to all the main materials used for floors and wall coverings, consolidating its technical role in the building sector. Over the decades, the company developed an international structure through the opening of commercial subsidiaries in Germany, Spain, the United States, France, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates.
