La Cornue is a French brand specializing in high-end cookers, hobs, and hoods. It all began in 1908 in Paris, when Albert Dupuy, a herbalist, perfumer, and inventor in his spare time, assembled a small portable oven that he named La Cornue Gas Rotisserie-Pâtissière. The name La Cornue comes from the French word “cornue,” meaning both the gas refining system that heated the new creation and the distillation coils used in perfumery. Abandoning his job as a perfumer, the inventor founded the company to produce the ovens, given its enormous success. After all, the invention is revolutionary: the particular vaulted shape of the oven, apparently inspired by the tunnels of the Paris metro, allows heat to spread around the food, optimizing cooking. A few years later, Dupuy launched the first kitchen, combining a vaulted oven and a cooktop. The quantum leap to exclusive, luxury production came in the 1960s, when son André Dupuy created the Château range, the company's flagship range to this day. With more than a century of activity behind it, La Cornue is synonymous with excellence throughout the world, and despite the innovations introduced over the years and the possibility of customization, it has preserved certain elements that make its style unique and recognizable: the vaulted oven, the tea towel rack, the “escargot” knobs, the customizable 5-star nameplate, and the metal frames of the oven frame. Each kitchen is handcrafted, and La Cornue products can be found in more than 40 countries around the world, thanks to an extensive network of distributors.

La Cornue's Château Collection, the excellence of kitchens and hobs

Inspired by the kitchen of a castle in the Loire Valley, the Château collection represents the top of the range in La Cornue's catalog. The retro chic design, stylish details and refined finishes have remained the same since its launch in 1964. The Grand Palais 180 cooktop is made of stainless steel, and features two combinable gas and electric ovens in the base, plus two storage drawers. The configuration of the cooktop is customizable as desired, with a choice of gas burners, lava stone grill, stainless steel teppanyaki griddle, simmer plate, and glass-ceramic induction module. Next comes the Château kitchen, declined in several models, with widths ranging from 180 to 90cm, while for smaller sizes the catalog offers the more compact Castel 75 model. The collection also offers the Range Cooktops line of freestanding cooktops, equipped with the same functions and available in the same 5 sizes as the kitchens. In 1975 the line was implemented with the La Flamberge rotisserie, which sports the same aesthetic figure as the cooktops and provides professional performance. Completing the collection is the Château hood, with its traditional chimney shape, also available for islands. The collection is fully customizable in surface finishes and accessories such as knobs and tea towel holders. Color palettes are divided into the Standard, Classic, Premium and Deluxe collections.

CornuFé cookers, hoods and rotisseries, La Cornue's standard line

Since 2004, La Cornue's catalog has expanded with the first series-produced kitchens, to meet an increasingly large and demanding public at the same time. Nothing changes in the exclusive aesthetics and quality of performance, starting with the Cornufé 110 kitchen, equipped with two independent ovens and a gas or induction cooktop, which can also be combined. The Cornufé 90 Albertine model, a tribute to the company's founder, sports a more minimalist design and compact volume, and features an oven with a capacity of an impressive 110 liters. Both models can be integrated with a hood of the corresponding size, such as the Cornufé 110 hood, with a traditional but more streamlined design and remote control to activate the extractor fan. For colors, there are three finishes available for the metal frames and four standard colors, plus the sought-after CornuFé Étoilé color collection, which includes the hues Ocean, an elegant green-gray; Wintersky, a blue-indigo; Graphite, a warm gray; and Morning Dew, between beige and creamy white. The La Cornue catalog also includes a range of kitchen accessories, such as the Mauviel steel cookware set, or the Flampberge Kit for cooking with a rotisserie, complete with solid walnut cutting board, knife and fork, apron, potholders, and tea towel.
