Milla & Milli is a Croatian brand specializing in high-end
solid wood furniture, blending contemporary design, craftsmanship, and environmental sustainability. Originally created by the manufacturer Mundus Viridis d.o.o., based in Gradec near Vrbovec, the brand produces furniture for living spaces and contract environments, including
tables, consoles,
sideboards,
coffee tables,
seating, and
bookcases. Its identity is deeply rooted in the use of local raw materials—wood sourced from Croatian forests—and in a production philosophy focused on environmental respect and the valorization of natural resources. In 2025, the company appointed
Alain Gilles as art director, entrusting him with the mission of guiding the brand through a creative evolution toward experimental design, while remaining faithful to Croatian tradition and the brand’s core philosophy. The creative team also includes designers
Maša Vukmanović,
Jelena Lukač, and
Jakov Šrajer, who contributed to the development of the first collections. Among the numerous awards received are the Red Dot Award, the German Design Award – Special Mention 2021, and the BigSEE Wood and Product Design Awards 2020, attesting to the brand's aesthetic and innovative quality.
Milla & Milli, solid wood furnishings between design and nature
The brand's official claim—“A celebration of design, a proclamation of love and an ode to Mother Nature”—encapsulates its entire philosophy. The production process celebrates wood as a living and unique material, highlighting its natural imperfections and tactile quality. Each creation pays tribute to nature, time, and craftsmanship, achieving a balance between aesthetics, functionality, and environmental responsibility. Milla & Milli’s catalog is divided into thematic collections that explore the material through different forms, textures, and finishes. The
Bloom collection includes iconic pieces like the
Bloom ICON Bar Cabinet, made of Croatian walnut and dark metal, distinguished by soft lines and layered surfaces evoking the shape of a flower. The
Waves series has received international acclaim, including the Red Dot Design Award, thanks to the
Waves Bar Cabinet—a sculptural piece that harmonizes design and artisanal skill. The
Edge collection, by contrast, stands out for its robust, tactile work that begins directly from the trunk, enhancing the natural essence of wood. In addition to its residential collections, Milla & Milli has developed the “Interiors” division, which focuses on contract and bespoke projects for hotels, resorts, retail spaces, and museums, combining design, sustainability, and responsibility.
Sustainable design and Milla & Milli values
Officially founded in 2018, Milla & Milli was the brainchild of husband and wife Ksenija and Ivić Pašalić, who named the brand after their affectionate nicknames, “Mila” and “Mili.” The company quickly established itself on the international design scene thanks to the exceptional quality of its craftsmanship and its special attention to wood, the core element of its identity. Every piece of furniture is the result of a short, fully internal supply chain: from the selection of the logs to the cutting, processing, and finishing. The production site in Gradec, immersed in the natural landscape of central Croatia, reflects the brand’s sustainable soul. Milla & Milli uses FSC®-certified wood, follows a “no log left behind” policy—ensuring no wood goes to waste—and supports reforestation initiatives by planting one tree for every piece of furniture sold. These principles, combined with artisanal know-how and refined design, have enabled the brand to emerge as a European benchmark in
solid wood design. With its refined formal language and cohesive visual identity, Milla & Milli now stands as a leading name in sustainable solid wood design, bridging Croatian craftsmanship with a contemporary and international perspective.
