In 2025, the designer Patrick Jouin unveiled Patrick Jouin Édition, a
furniture collection where material and craftsmanship are freely expressed. Conceived as an intimate laboratory, this first series of self-published pieces celebrates the uniqueness, excellence of savoir-faire, and the invitation to the unexpected that characterize his universe. Jouin aims to highlight the singularity of each object, born from a close collaboration with artisans and craftspeople, with the goal of revealing the very essence of each material. Every creation is handcrafted with a clear ambition: to be unique. This artisanal and thoughtful approach gives rise to pieces that go beyond mere functionality, transforming into authentic and distinctive works.
“In the intimacy of the workshop, I discovered a boundless playground, a refuge where the usual constraints fade away, giving way to free exploration. A true laboratory where the material becomes a partner, where craftsmanship engages in dialogue with singularity. Here, anything is possible, and everything is personal. This first collection is an ode to detail, to the precision of assemblies, and to the expertise I have cultivated since the beginning of my career. Through these pieces, I wanted to highlight the materials that challenge me, yet never cease to surprise and amaze me. Those who know me will recognize my obsessions within them. Born in 1967,
Patrick Jouin is a designer who graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle (ENSCI) in 1992. His career, along with that of his design studio, Patrick Jouin iD, was honored with a monographic exhibition at the Centre Pompidou in 2009. He was also awarded the Compasso d’Oro for his "Pasta Pot" kitchen utensil produced by Alessi. Several of his creations have entered the permanent collections of museums, notably the "Solid" collection at MoMA, which in 2004 was the first full-scale furniture series realized using 3D printing technologies. Collaborating with brands such as Pedrali, Porada, Puiforcat, Alki, and Alessi, his approach to craftsmanship and design is reflected in each of his projects, whether in product design, research, or urban furniture. Believing that design can improve daily life, Patrick Jouin has worked on projects with RATP, JCDecaux, and the Société des Grands Projets for the Grand Paris Express.
