Zintek, a part of the Cordifin group, is the only Italian company that produces
zinc-titanium zintek® rolled products for architecture. Thanks to the 86,000 sqm factory in Venice Porto Marghera, active since 1936, Zintek is a point of reference in the production of zinc-titanium roofing, façades and sheet metal works, with a complete supply chain that goes from zinc melting to the production, sale and application of the finished product. Its mission is to provide buildings with beauty, long-lasting durability and authenticity in any context, from new buildings to conservative restoration and renovations of disused constructions, thanks to the unique quality of its organization and its product. The synergy of the three areas that compose it – commercial, technical and training – allows Zintek to offer customers and partners not only a quality product but also consultancy and specialized assistance to make the most of the characteristics of zinc-titanium and guarantee buildings beauty, long-life and authenticity, from a sustainable perspective.
Technical and consultancy division
The Zintek technical division consists of a technical office at the service of designers, companies and installation firms. The office offers design and technical consultancy, as well as collaboration in defining cost estimates and expense budgets. The technical office also distributes all the information support documents prepared by the company over the course of the years and important publications like the manual TITANIUM-ZINC. Properties, Systems and Technologies for Building Envelopes and the ambitious TITANIUM-ZINC IN ARCHITECTURE. Study of the Design and Installation of Roofs, Façades and Sheet Metal Work in zintek®, a complete guide of over 460 pages on the design, construction, and installation of zinc-titanium roofs and facades. Both publications are available in Italian and English. Zintek is also responsible for managing the P.O.L., the online application for calculating specifications in zintek®.
Commercial division
The commercial division includes a direct sales for zintek® titanium-zinc products (rolled products and complementary accessories), on both the national and international market, plus a marketing area that studies tools to increase the visibility of the product and the company, including the series of monographs dedicated to the main works in which Zintek has collaborated – fully browsable online – and the magazine Architypes, a periodic publication that deals with architecture, urban planning, and society. Since January 2018, the company is the sole commercial referent for all zinc rolled products manufactured by the Cordifin Group, and has initiated an internationalization process which has led it to enter the European, Asian and American markets, with the opening of showrooms in Amsterdam and Shanghai.
Training division
Zintek realized the key role played by sheet metal workers before many of its competitors, leading it to launch the Tinsmithery School twenty years ago to provide small, medium-sized, and large businesses with courses on roofs, façades, and dormers. The school was for a long time one of the leading training centres for sheet metal workers in the whole of Italy. It provided opportunities to learn technical and business skills, and fostered partnerships between Zintek and students, giving the firm a competitive advantage over other businesses in the sector. In 2022, the company obtained UNI ISO 21001:2019 certification, the international standard for education and training organizations (EOMS), and launched the Zintek Academy. The Academy is the first recognized entity in Italy to offer roofers and installers a specific path to obtain competency certification, the Zintek Academy provides courses aligned with UNI/PdR 68:2019 practices. In addition to courses for roofers, the Zintek Academy also offers opportunities for in-depth study on the potential of zintek® laminate and best practices dedicated to architects and designers. These include meetings and seminars held at other professional studios or company locations.
Certifications
In terms of eco-sustainability, Zintek complies with all requirements set forth by laws concerning its product: responsible use of resources, assessment of the life cycle of products and materials, as well as their conformity on an European level; the company has also achieved certificates that testify to the extremely high quality of zintek® rolled products. Health, safety, environmental management, ethics: Zintek has chosen to certify its processes to ensure maximum reliability for its employees, partners and clients.
